Carrot Cake Hides And Covers Itself With Something Special

When you have kids at home, you always end up watching what they are watching. My kids are the reasons why I am updated with all the latest cartoons and shows- they watch a lot of them and I am always there to supervise them. The television can’t be switched on without my husband or I beside the kids. We don’t want them accidentally flipping the channel into something they don’t need to see. Even though they are now old enough to understand what’s right and what’s wrong, they can’t handle some shows-not yet.

So I was watching this particular cartoon with my sons, which I grew up watching actually. I didn’t know they are still showing this until today. It’s about a genius young inventor who has a playful older sister.

In this particular episode, the young inventor has some sort of shield coat, which protected him from the bad guys. My sons looked so interested that their eyes never left the television. They only stopped watching when I announced that it was time for their snacks.

I served them a piece of carrot cake each. It has the creamiest frosting that covered it. For me, cream cheese frosting is still the perfect frosting for carrot cake.

While we were eating, one of my sons asked, “Momma, is this a shield for the cake?” He pokes his fork on the frosting. I nodded and responded, “yes. It protects the cake from danger. You should eat it so even in your stomach, it will protect the cake.”

I might not make any sense, but my son nodded and enjoyed this cake. One point for momma, I guess.

Quick Tip: Since this is a layer cake, you’ll need to double the amount of frosting.
