Leave A Mark On Everyone’s Hearts With These Thumbprint Cookies

I woke up from an afternoon nap with my kids one weekend, suddenly craving for peanut butter. I admit that it’s a comfort food for me. I always sneak in a spoonful or two when my husband is not looking and eat it just like that. I have a weakness for anything peanut buttery, which is why my friends know that the only way to make me consider an idea I oppose is by giving me peanut butter. So anyway, back to my peanut butter craving.

I came down to the kitchen, careful not to wake up my children, and proceeded to do my mission. My spoon is ready, my heart is ready… but the peanut butter is not ready! The jar was nowhere in sight, and I knew the peanut butter monster struck last night.

My husband and I shared that hobby, so I know it’s him who finished that jar of peanut butter. He made peace with me when he went home with two large jars- one creamy and chunky. He knew how much I love those so I forgave him.

Since I didn’t want a repeat of that moment, I decided to make this peanut butter chocolate thumbprint cookies the next day. It was the only way that all of us would get to eat the peanut butter together. I heard no complains though; just little crumbs left here and there.

Quick Tip: If you refrigerate the dough overnight, you’ll need to allow it to sit on the kitchen counter for an hour or so before shaping the dough.
