The Apple Really Doesn’t Fall Far… From The Barbecue Ribs!

Ribs are my husband’s ultimate comfort food. We don’t have it usually because it’s not really the warm dinner he prefers during weekdays. But whenever we have it, he really indulges on it. He eats a lot and I don’t blame him- it’s his comfort food after all. He’s actually the one who usually prepares the ribs for the family because his papa has a really good marinade for them. Even the kids could eat them because while flavorful, it has flavors that children will love.

His ribs are similar to these apple butter barbecue ribs that I have gotten from Recipe Girl. It has all the strong flavors, but the barbecue sauce used and the addition of apple butter make them kid friendly. My boys actually love this recipe as much as my husband does.

I made this recipe during one weekend along with my Mom’s mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. My boys were all smiles; and my husband looked like he’d gone to food heaven and back.  It was a really pretty sight for a mother and a wife.

Quick Tip: You should plan ahead and marinate the ribs overnight so they can absorb the spices. Just pop them into the slow cooker the next day.
