Coffeeholics Will Love This Creamy Chocolate Cake!

My husband and I have been talking a lot lately regarding life. It’s not really a bad thing, is it? Most especially now that we have our family and our kids are starting to be a little more independent. Sure, it will still be years before they can be totally independent, but they’re starting to understand a lot of abstract things around them. For my husband and I, this is the perfect moment to teach them how to appreciate life.

Of course we are not going to show them the full picture yet. We just want to teach them more values as they grow so that these will be instilled in their minds. It’s not too early for them to start learning.

Talks about life actually started when I made this chocolate cake with coffee buttercream frosting. I got this from a site called The Lazy Mom Cooks. I made this one afternoon when I was craving for something bittersweet.

My husband joined me during my midnight snack. We shared a slice over two cups of coffee. We started talking about how bittersweet the cake was just like life.

The conversation just kept rolling until we realized it’s almost sunrise. It’s a good thing it was the weekend. We took turns in sleeping during the day after that conversation.
