What do you love to do during your spare time? Well, other than to cook for your family. I love to do arts and crafts in my spare time. Knitting is out of the question for me. I really want to learn it, but it didn’t want me. So I went over to the next best thing. Cross stitching. I learned this first from my grandmother. When she was alive, I always saw her making cross stitch patterns. In fact, if you go to her house, you can see a lot of framed patterns hanging on their walls. They’re like the touch of colors in an otherwise empty home. My mother and my aunts didn’t want to sell the home. So it was being taken care of by a relative.

I started doing cross stitch in high school. It’s a wonderful hobby because you can see the colors turning everything into something beautiful from a once blank cloth. It’s easier too because you have a “grid” to follow. If you go into our house, you can see my angel cross stitch hanging in the dining room. It was the Angel of Destiny. It’s a wonderful mixture of greens, purples, pinks, and yellow. It’s quite similar to this white enchiladas recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie.
