Even Non-Veggie Lovers Will Love This Layered Mushroom Cabbage Casserole!

Even those that do not care too much for vegetables will love this layered mushroom cabbage casserole! I am quite amazed by the power of this casserole. It was my aunt who made this for us during one reunion. She was caught telling everyone, “Y’all should eat healthy once in a while! Lemme cook something for supper!” And we all couldn’t say no to her. The truth was, we were anticipating a pot roast for supper that night, but one of my uncles, who was supposed to do the pot roast, was blocked by my aunt. So that night, we all ended up eating this mushroom cabbage casserole.

Surprisingly, the mushroom cabbage casserole was a hit! The kids didn’t like it, but that’s a bit understandable. There was a chicken dish and they all ate that. It was us adults who actually managed to finish the entire casserole dish. It was really yummy! I didn’t expect that cabbage could taste that good in a dish. Well, I must be biased because I love cabbage. But then again, the empty casserole dish was a proof! I found a similar recipe over at Home Cooking Adventure. This recipe has suggestions too about what you can modify with regards to the ingredients, to suit your family’s preferences. A copy of this recipe is available on the next page. Enjoy!
