When The Banana Meets The Nutella, This Magical Cake Pops Out!

Is your family nuts for Nutella? Do you find yourself always running out of Nutella because you have companions in the house who secretly sneaks in the kitchen at night to eat directly from the jar itself? Are you one of those who sees the guilty face in the morning during breakfast? I answer YES to all of the questions. And the main culprit is my husband. He reminds me of my dad who always sneaks in at night to eat chocolates in the fridge. Chocolates are bad for my dad because he has diabetes. But mom still catches him eating a few bars at night! The worse thing about it is that my mother joins him and she too has diabetes! My husband is healthy as a horse, but I swear he is such a child sometimes. I expect this sneakiness from Chiyo and Calvin in a couple more years, but not from him. Okay, I mean I do! But it still surprises me sometimes.

This banana cake with Nutella frosting is a dessert that my husband will do everything to get his hands into. When I first came upon this recipe, I made sure to tease him about it. I caught him one night about to sneak out, but my words halted him. “Don’t eat the Nutella. I am using it for a cake tomorrow,” I said. When I woke up the next morning, the Nutella was still sealed. But he came down with that look of hope on his face and it just made him laugh! I told him he would have his dessert when he came home and I swear he had wings on his feet when he left for work! This banana cake with Nutella frosting is a family dessert, one that even your kids or grandchildren will surely love.
