It’s The Nut Roll Recipe That Made Everyone Shout For Joy!

Okay, so maybe not literally crazy, but yes, partly. It’s just that when you taste something really delicious and it’s unexpected, you wouldn’t know what to do other than go gaga over the one who made it and over the recipe itself. It happened to Mildred in her house just recently. We were helping her redecorate her house because she sort of broke up with her boyfriend and decided she needed to “paint over” the memories he left behind. She promised us food and a dessert that was a family recipe. Whenever someone said “family recipe”, that could only mean one thing—it’s going to be epic!

And it was. We had all collapsed in her living room, with her walls already painted, when she entered bringing something on a tray that smelled so wonderful. She told us it was the nut roll recipe by her great grandmother who was passed on to their generation. It tasted so good and so moist and so very nutty that when Mildred came back after five minutes just to fetch the tea that would accompany the nut rolls, there was barely a piece left. We were just too polite to ate the last piece that was supposed to belong to her. When she said there was another tray waiting in the kitchen, well, we were all up and running. Last one would definitely not have a piece!
