This Pear Upside Down Cake And Princess Diaries

I probably shouldn’t be revealing this, but I am a fan of the Princess Diaries movie series. I haven’t read the book, but I enjoyed the movies a lot. Whenever I feel like I want to relax, I just put it on the player and watch it along with a plate of cookies and a warm glass of milk. Genovia’s most precious produce are pears. They have pear-flavored popcorn even! I haven’t tasted a pear-flavored popcorn anywhere. Which is why when I came upon this recipe, it’s the first thing that popped into my mind; that and Anne Hathaway’s gowns. She really looked gorgeous and at least they weren’t pink.

Mom used to make a lot of upside down cakes. She tried every fruit I could think of. But maybe not really because she hasn’t tried a pear upside down cake. I actually made one right after I found this recipe and sent it to her via a friend who was traveling their way. I didn’t receive any thank you calls or “this tasted wonderful” calls. I did receive a phone call though. But it was a demand to hand over the recipe for the pear upside down cake.
