The Perfect Comfort Food For Your Weeknights

The Beautiful Flavors Of This Stew Will Take You Straight To Japan

One of the best things about food and cooking is that you can use them to travel around the world without even leaving your kitchen. I love trying different recipes from far-away countries and exotic cultures. My husband and I have a fun game with our friends; we randomly pick a country and take turns cooking a 3-course meal, using only recipes from that particular country. We find out about their culture, listen to their traditional music and even try to decorate the dining area with items or flowers that we would see if we were actually there.

What I’ve noticed during these dinners is that quite often we’ve had no idea what kind of food they really eat in the country we have picked. Sure, we can usually name one dish or ingredient that is common to that part of the world, but that’s about it. It was the same with this recipe here. If someone had asked me about Japanese food, I would have immediately thought of sushi!
