This Bread Pudding Is Vintage, But It Never Grows Old!

Oh, this one is a fun memory! When I was a kid, we had a lot of family gatherings where we would cook all our favorite dishes, eat, laugh and talk until late at night. One of the dishes we used to make was pudding, using leftover breads. I heard my aunt say that the older the bread was, the better the pudding would taste (I wasn’t sure why; I didn’t ask). It turned out to be true though.

My task was to tear the bread into tiny little pieces. When I was done, my aunt would pour sugar, milk, and eggs all over the bread and she mixed them all together. Then they would be placed in these tiny aluminum, oval-shaped containers and then steamed for a few minutes. We usually ate them with a drop of whipped cream on top and with piping hot tea.
