This Cake May Not Look Fancy But Boy, Does It Taste Delicious!!
My mother loves baking. She is so good at it we’ve often told her she should set up her own bakery!
She’s very experimental with her recipes – sometimes she sees a recipe on TV or a magazine and she’ll make something similar, but comes up with her own ingredients. She has made the most beautiful and decorative cakes and pastries for family gatherings, but to her it’s always about the taste.
I guess that’s why this is one of her favorites. One can understand why she calls this “the ugly cake”… but it doesn’t really matter because it’s absolutely delicious.
What my Mom does is she occasionally adds something, or makes her own cake instead of using the box mix, but she always keeps it very simple with this one. This is one of the easiest cake recipes ever – it’s perfect for those times when you need to whip something up quickly!
