The Amazing Casserole Recipe You Should Have Known Years Ago

6 delicious weeknight meals pizza casserole

I don’t know a single person in this world who doesn’t like this pizza casserole. I know quite a few who are not that fond of certain pizza toppings, but that’s an easy problem to solve. Just change the toppings – or in this case, fillings, to your favorites and it’ll turn out delicious!

Use your favorite pasta noodles, add tomato slices, different kinds of cheese – or do what I usually do and throw in pretty much anything you happen to have in your fridge at the moment. Just don’t forget to let us know in the comments below, how it turned out for you!

Ingredients

1 lb of pasta (your favorite kind)

1 large jar of Barilla spaghetti sauce

2 cups Kraft shredded mozzarella cheese

2 lb ground beef or turkey

1 small onion chopped

2 Tbsp Bertolli olive oil

Pepperoni slices

Tomato slices

Large container of Ricotta cheese

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cook the onions in the olive oil until just translucent. Add in the ground meat, cook until browned. Drain off any excess fat.

Boil the pasta noodles and cook until al dente. Rinse under cold water. Set aside.

Cover the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan with spaghetti sauce. Add half the cooked noodles, half the meat, half of the ricotta and half the sauce. Layer on a generous amount of sliced pepperoni. Top with half the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers and cover the top with whatever toppings you prefer. I like to add a generous amount of cheese and some tomato slices.

Cover the dish with foil (spray the bottom of your foil with cooking spray so it won’t stick to the toppings) and bake for 35 – 40 minutes. Remove the foil during the last 15 minutes. Let sit 15 minutes before serving.
