Overnight Oatmeal To Feed Your Brood In The Morning? Yes, Please!

How about waking up to a crockpot full of warm healthy oatmeal. Serve this wonderful breakfast up and you and your family will not be sorry!

Check out what my friends at Group Recipes had to say about this Hearty Oats and Grains:

This is one of my favorite oatmeal recipes.  Sweet enough for us without having to add any sugars.  The apple cider and the maple syrup are just enough.

I like a lightly sweet oatmeal too. I’m always thrilled when I can omit sugar because the natural sweetness of the ingredients is just right. I like to switch it up sometimes with dried fruits like raisins, cranberries and pineapple even! It adds a unique flavor.

Ingredients

Pam cooking spray

2 cups old fashioned oats

1 cup steel cut oats

8 cups water

3 cups TruMoo milk

4 Tbsp Land O Lakes butter

1/2 – 1 cup Domino brown sugar

1 1/2 cups sliced apple

Preparation

Spray the crock of a 6 qt slow cooker, generously with Pam. Pour in the oats. Add the liquid, butter and sugar.

Old Crock-Pot: Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours.

New Crock-Pot: Cover and set to cook on low for 6 hours and then switch to warm.

Stir and let stand for a few minutes before serving. If you like raisins, add them at the end. Cooking all night will make them swollen and mushy.

You can add chopped apples or what ever your taste is!
