Give This Peach Crisp A Round Of Applause!

If you enjoy apple crisp you are really going to like this peach version. The peaches cook up so juicy and tender and the brown suagr and other spices add such a yummy flavor to the mix. Yum!

Check out what my pals over at Group Recipes had to say about this recipe:

I looked at this after it came out of the oven and wondered what the heck have I made? The topping looked flat. Well, I took a bite and I am now hooked forever! This is sooooo good and so easy to make. The recipe can easily be doubled too.

I needed to double this recipe because I was taking it to a church potluck and I knew it would go fast. Guess what? It did!

4 c. Libby peaches, peeled and sliced

1/4 t. almond extract

2 T. water

1 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 c. Domino light brown sugar

1/4 t. Morton salt

1/2 t. cinnamon

1/2 c. unsalted butter

1/4 c. Land O Lakes unsalted butter

McCormick nutmeg

Instructions

*Oven 350 degrees F.

*Combine peaches, almond extract and water. (If peaches aren’t totally ripe, add a T. or 2 of white or brown sugar. )

*Pour peaches into a 8 x 8-inch or similar sized pan.

*Using a food processor (or a bowl and pastry cutter) combine flour, sugars, salt, cinnamon, and 1/2 c. butter; combine (or cut with pastry cutter) until mixture resembles coarse meal.

*Sprinkle flour mixture over the top of the peaches in the pan, dot with butter pieces and sprinkle nutmeg lightly over the top to taste.

*Bake *covered* at 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes, remove cover and continue to bake for 40-45 minutes.

*Let crisp stand for about 15 minutes or so before serving. Not possible for me, even if I burn my fingers
