Put It In Your Sandwich Or Eat It Alone – Vinegar Slaw Is For Winners!

I am a huge fan of coleslaw, especially the creamy kind. However, while I was visiting North Carolina this summer I had the chance to try vinegar slaw. It was piled high on a pulled pork sandwich that I was eating from some BBQ joint. It was so good I had to order myself a side dish of it. Seriously. It was that good! The flavors were sweet and tangy and the cabbage was very crisp. I was in foodie heaven, y’all. Even my boys enjoyed eating this coleslaw and heaven knows my husband did as he kept picking at mine. Good thing I love him because I wasn’t about to share this slaw with anybody.

I had never had coleslaw on a sandwich before and apparently this is quite customary in the Carolinas. I have to say, it was very, very good. I guess they put coleslaw on all sorts of things in the south like hamburgers, hot dogs, and-and even in their tacos. What do you enjoy topping off with a healthy helping of vinegar coleslaw?
