Tongue-Teasing Sweet Tomato And Fruit Salad – A Simple, Southern Side Dish

The other day, my daughter and I were having a discussion about how certain vegetables are actually fruits. She pointed out to me that she learned in school that a tomato is a fruit. I told her she was right! Tomatoes are fruits. We both agreed that we needed to make some sort of tomato salad with other fruits because it would be tasty. That’s when I came upon this recipe for tomato and fruit salad. Shouldn’t this just be called fruit salad? Lol! We used a variety of red and gold tomatoes plus a few heirlooms.

I served this salad alongside our main course for dinner that evening and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The tomatoes paired well with the peaches and other fruits. Yum! I can honestly say this was one of the most delicious salads I have ever had – and I’ve had plenty!

Quick Tip: Feel free to sue any kind of fruit you have on hand but citrusy fruits and berries work best.
