This Dessert Is Extremely Popular In The UK And I Can See Why! – R.O.C.Kin’ With Banoffee Pie!

It’s only been a few hours since I’ve gotten off the phone with my British friend and I’ve already made this banoffee pie. It’s really simple to make. I mean, really, really simple! It’s hard to believe that something this good is actually so easy to put together.

And here’s a fun tip for you! You don’t have to use just bananas to make this pie! Try different fruits and berries – of course it’s not called “banoffee” anymore, if you’re using something else. But it’s still going to be absolutely delicious. I think I’m going to try peaches next!

Ingredients

For Base:
1 graham cracker pie crust

For Filling:
1 cup Dulche de Leche
2 large ripe bananas, peeled and sliced into rounds
2 tsp lemon juice
3/4 cup cream
1.5 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

For Topping:
Chocolate shavings

Instructions

Spoon some dulce de leche into the graham cracker crust and spread it.

Slice bananas into thin rounds and spoon some lemon juice or orange juice and toss the bananas well. Arrange the bananas over the layer of dulce de leche.

Whisk the cream in a bowl, add in sugar and vanilla and whip till soft peaks.

Spoon whipped cream over the bananas and spread it evenly.

Chill overnight or at least for a few hours. Decorate with chocolate shavings before serving.

this sounds yummy and believe it or not, i have all the ingredients in my house to make it – even the dulce de leche. You can make your own dulce de leche by simmering an opened can of sweetened condensed milk in boiling water for about 6 hours.

I am 75 years old, and my mom used to make this recipe all the time. we used to make the caramel by boiling it in water on top of the stove for 6 hours. But when I got a pressure cooker, I cooked a few tins at a time for 20 mins. Worked perfect.
