Calling All Buckeyes! Whether an OSU Fan or Not You’ll Love This Goodie!

Every Ohioan knows what a buckeye is, but everyone should know because they are delectable little treats. The buckeye tree is native to Ohio, which is why their winning college football team is named after them. The trees produce a dark brown nut with a light brown circle. These brownies are made with a nod to the confection that’s made to look just like a real buckeye. They are peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate and then dried. Basically a round Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Even though we live in another state now, I had to make this to pay homage to our home. I am SO glad I did – just wow!

One of my favorite things about this recipe is that I can double (or even triple) the ingredients and make a huge batch. If there isn’t a special occasion, such as a family gathering coming up, I’ll just cut these into squares and freeze them for a quick treat whenever I need one!

Quick Tip: Why not make a few buckeye candies to cut and place on top of the brownies?
