Easy to Throw Together and the Perfect Combo of Tropical Flavors, This Cake Will Give You a Reason to Sit Back and Smile

Check out what my friends at Food.com had to say about this amazing Do Nothing Cake:

Made this today and both my husband and I say “it’s a keeper”. This was so easy to make. I love the heavy dense texture to this cake. I will for sure be making it again. Yum!

Yum. We liked this a lot. What a nice change from the usual cake with powdered sugar frosting. Very dense cake and next time I may bake just a bit shorter time. I ran out of sugar so used 1/4 white sugar and 3/4 brown sugar for frosting. Still turned out lovely – just sweet enough and really good with chopped pecans. Will make again.

Ingredients

2 cups Domino white sugar

2 cups Gold Medal flour

2 Eggland’s Best eggs

1 teaspoon Clabber Girl baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

16 ounces Dole crushed pineapple, undrained

Icing

1/2 cup Land o Lakes butter

1 cup Domino sugar

¾ cup Borden evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup coconut

1 cup nuts

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place first 6 ingredients in a bowl & mix until blended.

Pour into 13×9 inch cake pan.

Quick Tip: You can use store-bought icing instead, just top it with sweetened coconut flakes.
